Registrations Closed: Regents Park Community Cabinet

For those still interested in attending the Regents Park Community Cabinet, registrations have now closed. According to the Community Cabinet website's it is possible to watch the meeting live on ABC News 24 on the Wednesday 22 May. There is speculation that a relatively low turn out may be present at the Community Cabinet meeting next week as the closing date for registration was extended for two days. Registered members of the public have told us that their registration numbers were in the mid-hundred to two hundred mark when they registered at the beginning of this week on Monday. Although official attendance figures cannot be confirmed at this stage, the locality of such event particularly in one of Western Sydney's safest Labor seats may have been an influence over the public's interest.

The staff and select students at Regents Park Christian School, venue of the Community Cabinet meeting are busy preparing the school for this event next Wednesday. Students have been asked to leave the school at 3pm sharp on 22 May with police supervision of the school taking place throughout the day. Regents Park Christian School was one of the recipient of the Labor Government's Building the Education Revolution stimulus package initiative in 2010. The school has opened its Kindergarten to Year 6 Primary department at the location since 2011. The new Primary School building is expected to be on display as a backdrop to the Community Cabinet meeting. As mentioned in the school's weekly newsletter a number of Prefects and School Captains will also be involved in the preparation of refreshments along with taking part in welcoming duties for the event.
